I love helping people find their life purpose because I think people get it wrong. I think that if you are trying to find out your life’s purpose by examining the job that you do, you could find yourself disappointed because a job/career is a modern construct and will have you totally missing the point. What you should focus on is your soul’s purpose. To make it easier for my clients, I always ask them to think about the legacy that they want to leave behind when they go because as morbid as it sounds, in that space, you will find your soul’s mission in life.
I also want you to think about your soul’s purpose vs a job because when you think you are meant to do one thing for the rest of your life and search for that career, you limit your options and you can become extremely frustrated when you are unable to find the answer to your question. If you focus on your soul’s purpose, it is easier to understand that your purpose… your legacy… it evolves as your soul evolves. That keeps you open to other possibilities and opportunities in life that you would otherwise miss if you put yourself into a box.
One of the things I have to walk clients through the most is their lack of a sense of purpose. This usually stems from a lack of alignment. If you are feeling this way, I would invite you to break your life down into a few parts. How is your connection to your intuition? How are you staying open in life? And how are you refusing to release the old?
Another thing I want you to think about is a deeper dive into the notion that your soul’s purpose can really be called your soul’s legacy. If you look at it this way, you can make a powerful shift because you can then think about how you feel by changing that keyword. If you were to make a lasting impact on the world that you envision, how would you have to live to make that happen? When you answer these questions, you will see that if you aren’t living life the way you need to, you can identify where you are out of alignment and course correct.
Mindset and intuitive work are the key to going deeper into who you are and your soul’s purpose. You also must have patience and be brave enough to try new things and cut out the things that don’t serve you. If nothing else, spending time being of service to others and with a commitment to lifetime learning because it is something that will help you step into your purpose.
Because I know how difficult it can be to find your life’s purpose (soul purpose), I have created a few worksheets for you with 12 powerful questions you must ask to help you find your purpose.
